Our 2008 Momtazi Vineyard Pinot Noir shows remarkably pure and delineated red fruit, with layers of candied red cherry and fresh raspberry, with hints of pomegranate. By no means simple, however, all this lifted fruit is underpinned by complex notes of tea-leaf, confectionary orange peel, and clean, wet brick. In a phrase: lollypop and loam! The wine's bright acidity and slightly firm tannins make it mouth-wateringly attractive now, and promise excellent future pleasure as well. It will match wonderfully with pork and richer preparations of chicken and salmon. Enjoy! |
